What a year it's been. Spent it working for University of Colorado in Boulder as a Business Systems Analyst for the Parking Department. Anything and everything to do with parking on campus - from permits to enforcement to lot capacity - I was the lead analyst for that system. It was fun! But in early July, I vacationed in West Palm Beach, Florida to help out a friend with her livestreaming business. It was fun too! Until we had a fight and I left. Then, because of my antics on cam in early July, I was terminated from CU. My friend made me an offer to come back to West Palm Beach and work for her full-time. I did it. And it was the most fun of my entire life! 10 days later we got into another fight, and I quit. I hate to say it, but there's no coming back from this one.

So... why am I not jumping off a bridge right now? Because I met someone from Stuart, Florida (where my parents lived for 25 years), she's a really great new friend, and I've moved to Stuart to, once again, restart my life. And I'm very excited! Who knows what will happen next? Well, to be perfectly honest? I do. I totally do. But I can't tell you. Not just yet.

"Everything that has transpired has done so according to my design."

Yup.

đđđ
Jim Ward-Nicholshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12363559282810114776noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3844005721610755370.post-31330116159267419882022-09-20T19:29:00.000-07:002022-09-20T19:29:11.751-07:00Could it be...
...that it's been over a year since I posted something? Then there was what I call a "setup and configuration" phase (for our copy of the simulation). Each Unique Copy of the Multiverse - and there are GAZILLIONS of them, mind you - has to have a realistic "layering" of Discoverable Data so its inhabitants remain convinced of its INSANE age. This is the simple answer to "What about the dinosaurs?!" The "setup and config" phase ran at what can only be called an accelerated pace. Then at roughly 3400-3200 BCE (when we first started to see written records being persisted) it slowed down to the pace we're experiencing now. Like how you could create a region in SimCity and run its "life-cycle" on Fast Motion then let it run at a normal pace. I say the whole thing is between 7k and 10k years old because I allow for a buffer of a few thousand years. The exact age is immaterial, though. But to say it's 13.8 BILLION years old? Total nonsense. You don't need that much time to create a realistically layered simulation (see above) that would give the appearance of this INSANE age.

1.3 - [This copy of the #HMS] is a tiny fraction of the size that the best and brightest minds believe it to be. Notes: It has the illusion of great size but is, in fact, a Closed System inside a Really Big Box (RBB). For instance: what a being does in a fight or flight experience. The being is genetically encoded to make one choice or choose another. How the being was raised, of course, is a function of the DCS data that each of the creator/caretaker beings inherited from their creator/caretaker beings and so on. If the info in the âHolo Uneâ (our copy of the Holographic Multiverse System) is rendered at every instant in time, then doesn't that require an infinite amount of rendering? Or is time not continuous but rather a series of imperceptibly small time units all strung together? Speaking of rendering, isn't it time for a pulled pork sandwich or a savory dish of beef stew? As I understand, it's what's for dinner. Beef⊠it's a dead cow.

Jim: Yes! An infinite amount from our perspective, of course. It's capped, though, at a level sufficient for the appearance of "fluid motion". As a reminder: our copy of the #HolographicMultiverseSystem exists inside what amounts to a closed box with what must be distinct boundaries - we refer to this as "The Infinite Universe".

Mike: Hmmmm.... a bit cavalier in throwing around the word "must"... infinite Holographic Multiverse Systems imply infinite computing power and infinite storage volume therefore it seems as though everything would be rendered in real time without the requirement of any warehousing. Storing the data and rendering it separately would be double work so it would be much simpler if the rendered object is its own data. If this is the case, it seems the "next step" data contained in each rendered object would be the resultant vector of a semi-random algorithm influenced by its own data iteration and those of the other rendered objects. Any other "next step" instructions imply either pre-determination or the intervention of a Superior Being. Of course it might take less energy for the Holographic Multiverse System to simply create actual objects instead of rendered ones...

Jim: We need to do a conference call! One quick response: our notion of how much âenergy" it takes to create "real" V. "Holographic Multiverse Simulation" is most certainly skewed since this cosmology I am proposing has no real frame of reference (especially the Multiverse part of it). How each copy of the HMSâs projection and detection components actually work - how they are constructed? Thatâs beyond me. The closest analogy would be the Holodeck on Star Trek: http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Holodeck

And besides: methinks âoutside the boxâ science and math would seem like magic to us.

What do I call the data associated with the location of the Holographic Element within the overall projection inside our copy of the #HMS? I call this the Specified Location Identity Data (#SLiD). It not only warehouses the spatial coordinates of the Element, it contains Next Step data as well (and who knows what else).

And here's the kicker: this tracking & rendering occurs at the lowest level of observable matter (all the subatomic particles, âall the way downâ, âas low as it goesâ, etc.). And it occurs in every single one of the gazillion copies of the Holographic Multiverse System.

By the way, because the entire history of location & state for every âspeck of matterâ (whatever it is) at every moment in time is tracked and warehoused in the Big Data Warehouse In The Sky (BDWITS) - yes, âas low as it goesâ - this might explain (partially, at least) the phenomena known as âSpooky Action at a Distanceâ (aka Quantum Entanglement). Think about it: if thereâs a history of the spatial coordinates & state of/for every âspeck of matterâ at every moment in time and two objects come into close proximity with each other or occupy the same spot or are created in the same exact place at the exact same moment in time, they will *forever* have that set of #SLiD in common in The Warehouse. The #SLiD for each of these âspecks of matterâ will always carry that shared/similar location in the warehouse and it will be time-stamped at that precise moment in time in the warehouse. And, who knows, it might mean that the two âComponentsâ aka âHolographic Elementsâ were rendered at that instant by the same âProjector Cellâ (aka the same âbank of Holo-emitters in the Holodeckâ). What might that trigger? Bells? Whistles? I have no idea. But it links them. Forever and ever.

Enjoy!

Jim: If you need to, you can reread this 50K-foot summary: How Everything Works (#HEW) - Weâre woven into one of the gazillion copies of the Holographic Multiverse System. This system was designed to appear infinitely large and impossibly old but is, at most, between 7,000 and 10,000 years old. [This Holographic Multiverse System] is a tiny fraction of the size that the best and brightest minds believe it to be. We are âmere projectionsâ who experience 2D (âZero Dâ, actually) as âsolidâ and we live inside what amounts to a Really Big Box (with defined boundaries, of course) that we call âThe Infinite Universeâ.

All interactions between sentient beings on this planet (and their life circumstances in general) are entirely shaped by each beingâs DNA Capability Set (DCS) and how that DCS has interacted with every other DCS (ever) since that being was born, even while the being was in the womb. Growth/Evolution (of the being itself and every single one of the beingâs ancestors) is entirely governed by gazillion-variable âwave-functionâ- like equations that can definitely be impacted by the beingâs physical environment and other Life Conditions as they evolve. There are, of course, different sets of equations running the show for each set of beings (down to the tiniest insect) inside each of the copies of the Holographic Multiverse System. Itâs a highly choreographed free-for-all! And itâs mind-boggling! And I just love it!

Closest analogy: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychohistory_(fictional) (but on a sub-atomic level - with everything tracked âas low as it goesâ)

Just to recap the part of my theory that I shared with you the other night: Since everything in our copy of the Holographic Multiverse System must be "rendered" in some fashion at every instant in time, there must be a known location within the projection that is warehoused to be used in calculations for the next "rendering" (and this rendering happens so quickly it appears as fluid motion to our senses).

What do I call the data associated with the location of the Holographic Element within the overall projection inside our copy of the Holographic Multiverse System? I call this data the Specified Location Indicators (SLI). It not only warehouses the spatial coordinates of the Element, it contains Next Step data as well (and who knows what else).

And here's the kicker: this tracking occurs at the lowest level of observable matter (all the subatomic particles, âall the way downâ, âas low as it goesâ, etc.).

Think about it: if thereâs a history of the spatial coordinates & state of/for every âspeck of matterâ at every moment in time and two objects come into close proximity with each other or occupy the same spot or are created in the same exact place at the exact same moment in time, they will *forever* have that set of SLI data in common in The Warehouse. The SLI data for each of these âspecks of matterâ will always carry that shared/similar location in the warehouse and it will be time-stamped at that precise moment in time in the warehouse. HEW and the Holographic Multiverse System (HMS) aside, I've never heard anyone reference anything even remotely similar when describing the possible causes of so-called âSpooky Action at a Distanceâ aka Quantum Entanglement. Letâs face it: "Spooky Action at a Distance" defies explanation and continues to baffle the best and brightest. And it always has. This at least explains how/why that âregardless of the distance between themâ they will have that particular shared/similar SLI data in common always & forever. Thoughts?

Kevin: A quick question... or two... This system was designed to appear infinitely large and impossibly old but is, at most, between 7,000 and 10,000 years old. [This Holographic Multiverse System] is a tiny fraction of the size that the best and brightest minds believe it to be. We are âmere projectionsâ who experience 2D as âsolidâ and we live inside an enclosed box with boundaries that we call âThe Infinite Universeâ.

Growth/Evolution (of the being itself and every single one of the beingâs ancestors) is entirely governed by gazillion-variable âwave-functionâ- like equations, and there are different sets of equations running the show for each set of beings (down to the tiniest insect) inside each of the copies of the holographic multiverse system. Itâs a highly choreographed free-for-all! And itâs mind-boggling! And I just love it!

Each Unique Copy of the Multiverse - and there are GAZILLIONS of them, mind you - has to have a realistic "layering" of Discoverable Data so its inhabitants remain convinced of its INSANE age (you know, how it's bill-yunnns and bill-yunnns and bill-yunnns of years old --- OMG, LOL!!!).

Storing the data and rendering it separately would be double work so much simpler if the rendered object is its own data. If this is the case, it seems the "next step" data contained in each rendered object would be the resultant vector of a semi-random algorithm influenced by its own data iteration and those of the other rendered objects. Any other "next step" instructions imply either pre-determination or the intervention of a superior being. Of course it might take less energy for the hologRAPHIC multiverse SYsTEMS to simply create actual objects instead of rendered ones...

FADE IN:

EXT. LOWER MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY -- DAY 1

The formerly bustling metropolis is now a barren landscape
of twisted metal and concrete rubble.
"Street level" is now at subway level, broken stairways and
railings climb skyward to a street long since destroyed. What remains of the skyline is a jagged mishmash
of grotesque metal sculptures intermittently framed by random buildings
seemingly untouched by the holocaust that razed most of the island. Ironically, among the edifices spared is
"FAO Schwartz", which now stands two-stories taller, showing its subterranean
guts owing to the lack of a 5th Avenue.
The camera pans to reveal US Special Tactical Agent GINA GANTLY, squad
leader of an elite Special Forces Group.
The squad's mission today is to locate, subdue, sedate and apprehend
Unknown Hostile Lifeform Eleven-Twenty-Two (UHL-1122). UHL-1122 is an extremely intelligent
creature that is a mutated combination of humanoid, reptile, and biomechanical
components that resulted from the absorption of the radiation from the many neutron
weapons used during The Final Conflict. UHL-1122
is an endoskeletal biped whose various organs are held in place by a thin
membrane of translucent cartilage. It
wears a protective "suit" of reactive armor. It has no visible eyes. It communicates to its minions using an
audible "language" comprised of binary chirps. Its offensive/defensive weapons are a kluge
of Chinese tactical nukes, directed energy plasma weapons and incongruously, an Egyptian Scimitar. UHL- 1122 controls the island south of Tribeca through
a caste of minions, many of whom are similarly disfigured mutants.

Gina and her team are quietly exiting a stealth APC
concealed in the one remaining tube of the Holland Tunnel.

GINA - Flanking pattern Delta-eight. Comm traffic on VLF Mode 3 only. Let's move out.

Gina and her team are equipped with an abundance of
classified, above-top-secret weapons.
Among them are the EHA-2 rail-gun.
These weapons fire a projectile within which is a sub-atomic singularity
-- a microscopic "black hole". Once released from its
tritium-magnetic shell, the target implodes into a time-space event horizon.

GINA (CONT'D) (under her breath) - Okay asshole. Letâs dance.

Each squad member is equipped with the Lockheed Terex
airdyne, a personal mobility device that can silently glide the soldier over
uneven terrain and with the greatly minimized chances of triggering land mines
or booby traps.

Lance Corporal BRINK O'HARA is just completing the fold-out
assembly of his airdyne. His Battlefield
Situation Display comes to life.

O'HARA - The FOFO is coming in. (he shows the display to
Gina) Everybody's accounted for. (pointing) There's the bogey.

GINA - Is he by himself?

O'HARA - Hard to say.
No UAV data yet.

GINA - Flannagan!
Where's air support?

Lieutenant MAX FLANNAGAN is an aviator "on-loan"
from the Colonial Air Force. He is an
arrogant misogynist who takes great personal pride in humiliating Gina whenever
a chance arises.

FLANNAGAN - Air support is standing by. UAVs are loitering over Brooklyn, downwind.
We don't want to spook them with the noise.

GINA -We need better BSD recon.

FLANNAGAN -It's your call but...

GINA - Move them in.

Flannagan begrudgingly signals his minions to move Unmanned
Aerial Vehicles equipped with high-resolution infrared and X- ray sensors to
gather imagery of UHL-1122's position and situation. The squad disperses in a carefully rehearsed
flanking pattern aboard the airdynes.

INT. RUINS OF FREEDOM TOWER ATRIUM -- DAY 2

UHL-1122 is sitting atop a stainless steel contraption that
resembles a throne. It's long, extended
carapace which one could assume is its "face" is pointed skyward, as
if in meditation. Another creature
enters the room. It's "mouth"
opens, emitting a binary burst of "0's" and "1's".

CREATURE 1 (in English sub-titles) - The air. It moves in a strange way. Seismic anomalies
are near.

UHL-1122 ceases its meditation and "looks" at the
creature. After a pause for thought, it responds.

UHL-1122 (in English sub-titles) Humans. I sensed it.
Deploy countermeasures. So
arrogant, they are. Time that they
should learn humility.

EXT. CANAL STREET -- CONTINUOUS

A gaggle of airdynes pass overhead.

FLANNAGAN (to Gina) - New tactical.

Gina engages her head-up display. The BSD (Battlefield Situation Display) now
clearly shows UHL-1122 is alone but on the move. The FOFO (Friend or Foe) data overlay shows
the positions of the other members of UHL-1122's caste and their position in
relation to Gina's team. Clusters of
"friendly" targets are centered in Battery Park and the site of the
Downtown Heliport.

GINA - What are those sensor returns at Houston Street?

FLANNAGAN - I don't...

The answer to Gina's question is delivered swiftly and
horribly as hundreds of shiny flying nanobots dismember Flannagan from the
torso out. Gina is spared only because
she was in the cone of protection immediately behind him. She directs the
airdyne down an alley to avoid the next swarm.

GINA (into VLF translator) - Man down! The fucker knows we're coming. Take evasive action. Swarm of nanno-wasps took him apart!

O'HARA -My God Gina!
What's happening? (referring to the BSD display)

The display shows that fully half of the squad is
"OTS" (out of service) and presumed dead.

GINA (into VLF translator) - Attack mode Golf Echo... attack
mode Golf Echo.

O'HARA - You sure about that?

GINA - Let them eat static.

Each member of the team steps off their airdyne, sets the
controls to "auto loiter", and the comm systems to "ECM"
and resumes the attack on foot. The
airdyne's comm systems are now emitting a cacophony of high-powered digital
gibberish. The nanobots' navigational
algorithms are confused by this and give chase to the airdynes, which now have
been reduced in functionality to that of essentially very expensive
"chaff".

INT. RUINS OF FREEDOM TOWER ATRIUM -- CONTINUOUS

CREATURE 1 (in English sub-titles) (referring to a graphic
display device) - Their machines seem to wonder aimlessly. Our countermeasures follow them.

UHL-1122 (in English subtitles) - It's a ruse, they'll soon
be here.

UHL-1122 - clambers toward a weapons locker and extracts several
plasma weapons and the scimitar.

UHL-1122 (CONT'D) (in English sub-titles) - We bring the
fight to them.

UHL-1122 and several of his minions march briskly through a
steel-lined blast door.

EXT. HOUSTON STREET -- CONTINUOUS

What remains of the squad has begun to converge on the ruins
that once were the Freedom Towers. Using
advanced urban warfare tactics, their progress is careful, measured and almost
undetectable.

O'HARA - He's on the move.
He's...they are almost on top of us!

GINA -Where? How?

O'HARA (almost in a panic) - I don't know! I don't know!

O'Hara sweeps a portable sensor toward the ground. There under us. Somehow they're under us.

GINA - I thought we had this area fully mapped.

O'HARA - Apparently we missed something.

At that moment, a squad member begins firing his weapon
wildly into the ground.

SQUAD MEMBER 1 - The ground!
It's liquefying! I could see them
moving under me!

As Gina steps toward him to get a glimpse of what he is
shooting at he suddenly is pulled right through the concrete, severing his
right arm in the process. All that
remains is his helmet and his arm, still clutching the rail-gun. Suddenly, in
only a few second's time, three more squad members meet the same fate. They're screams can be heard echoing in the distance.

GINA (into the VLF translator) - Fall back! Back to Canal Stree...

As O'Hara, Gina and the remaining squad members pivot to
retreat, they are blocked by several mutant combatants. A squad member reacts by firing his EHA-2
Rail-gun. The projectile prescribes a
deep black line centered directly on a creature. The line resembles a tear in space with
objects nearby seeming to bend into it.
The projectile bursts on impact causing the singularity contained within
it to begin its inexorable collapse of mass, time and space nearest the event
horizon. The creature is essentially
turned inside out, collapsing into an infinitely small quantum particle. Light
bends near the event until the utter annihilation is complete.

The creatures are frozen with fear. They separate as UHL- 1122 makes a dramatic
entrance. Gina, O'Hara and the lone
remaining squad member now stand opposite UHL-1122 and his henchmen. O'Hara raises his rail gun. UHL-1122 raises
his hand as if to signal surrender. It
then slowly touches a button located on its thorax. A translation device.

UHL-1122 (filtered) - Impressive. Insanely destructive. Very impressive. But it must have a range limit, a minimum
range.

Gina and O'Hara are impressed that UHL-1122 has correctly
determined that the EHA-2 cannot be fired in close proximity as it would also
annihilate the user. They wonder if it
will use this assumption to exploit a tactical disadvantage.

GINA - Our orders are to take you into custody. Just you.
Not them. (gesturing to the other creatures)

UHL-1122 (filtered) Custody.
A quaint concept.

At that moment, a crack of conventional weapons fire is
heard. The projectile impacts UHL-1122's reactive armor. The section of armor explodes outward
disintegrating the incoming missile.

Gina swivels to see where the fire is coming from. High and to her right are two squad members
who have taken up sniper positions. A
second crack is heard.

This projectile hits precisely where the first one did,
except this time, the armor has already been depleted. The second missile pierces the armor,
severely injuring UHL-1122.

When Gina swivels back around to face UHL-1122, it has
lunged toward her in a blind rage. She
gropes for the EHA-2 rail- gun and attempts to pull the trigger. The weapon will not fire, the close-range
lockout engaged. UHL-1122 effortlessly bats the weapon from her hand like a
toy. O'Hara and the other squad members
are now engaged in a fire-fight with the other creatures.

UHL-1122 grabs Gina by the waist.

UHL-1122 (CONT'D) (filtered) - In another reality we might
have been friends.

It extracts the scimitar from its scabbard.

UHL-1122 (filtered) - Check the fine print.

Gina's agonized scream is cut short as UHL-1122 summarily
decapitates her, Gina's body falling to the ground while he holds her head in
his hand. The raging firefight
continues. UHL-1122 bellows digital orders while hoisting Gina's head skyward.

It is a typical gray day at The Lots. The perpetual acid rains and cold winds

Her parents and my parents swapped houses in 1988. They got the relatively large home (keyword = relatively; this is Northwest NJ, mind you!) I grew up in (huge in-ground pool, 5 bedrooms, a gazillion baths and showers, a massive fire place downstairs in the "Rec" room, a whole "grandma's apartment" thing with a separate entrance, my own separate Rock & Roll Room as a kid that was big enough to be a normal kid's bedroom, and plus it was on two nice huge acres back then - yes, that I had to mow - yes, with a riding mower [ha!] ). So then my parents got a more modest little Post-Kids home (which I lived in 6-9 months out of the year for free while they were at their place in Florida - this was before they became full-time Floridians many moons ago). Anyway, this kid (LOL! she is a grown woman now!) is now a REAL-LIFE producer for an ACTUAL sci-fi flick due to come out thru Warner Brothers. For real. Anyway, she LOVES New Trinity Dawn and still sees it as a potential cash cow (as do I!). She's totally booked up now and so am I. But this is the path, my friends.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">And without naming names - yes, OF COURSE it's "Mr. Mellow's" daughter. Yeah, "Mr. Mellow" (he said, trying to preserve someone's anonymity with funny spelling as long as possible). But for anyone from Back Home (KRHS people especially), you are like "Oh, of course, HER!"
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I am super-grateful for all the connections that arise as they continue to manifest in a JIT (Just-In-Time) fashion! BTW - there are NO OTHER PATHS right now. Everything is in the Mellow Basket for NTD. Lots of other neat stuff and cool new people entering the scene non-NTD wise, but this is not the venue for that type of update.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Speaking of updates, I have shared this little "blurb" with some folks on FB so I thought I would post it here too - enjoy - see you whenever there is NEW news that I can (am allowed to) share! ;-)
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Here's the "blurb" -
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">"My plot is simple: Two Alien beings run the world, there's ONE company left that ...does everything, its employees are GLOBAL STARS and very well-known, everyone gets 'called into the games' at some point to win the life of their dreams --- so... one of the big stars of the ONE company gets called to play at the same time one of earth's poorest and most down-trodden dudes gets called to play --- the rich dude's dream life? become the Third God and usher in a NEW TRINITY --- the poor dude just wants to have the life of the BIG COMPANY STAR dude. So - there you have it. WORK IN PROGRESS. since the early 90s - dayjob keeps getting in the way - but i am still dedicated to making tens of millions off this copyrighted and fully registered work-in-progress... which could actually be a parts 1 and 2 of something already but I don't want people to think i copied the matrix with a 3-parter because my idea is not only better but it pre-dates those two fucking yokels by at least 10 years and i have notarized legal pad "scratch notes" and old "floppies" with date/time stamps from the early 90s on them galore if anyone gives me lip. No, I didn't "invent" the freakin' matrix. but the title of the movie back when I first started writing it WAY BACK WHEN??? V.R. WORLD (yes, VR WORLD!!! at that point NOT A SOUL had that term and was using it the way i was - i know, hilarious right? it's so retro). The work is called NEW TRINITY DAWN, has been for quite some time now, and the last publicly communicated details can be found here: http://newtrinitydawn.blogspot.com/ ~ lots more going on since then, though. Have been carrying around the script for MONTHS now at this point... bringing to work with me - practically never letting out of my sight. Just started to deal with the fact that no real work has gone into this thing (the script) for NINE months !!! Have some new energy to make it happen.

Integrate both hard copies of the script - scene by scene - this will allow for an outline to develop too.

Finish the missing 37 or 38 pages. The outline of this is done - I know what happens - itâs just a question of

when can I at least complete Item # 1 in this list? By the end of September? Too soon.

I renamed the Revised Intro as Rev. 3.0, declared CORE Word Doc (66 pages) and CORE
Screenwriter File (thru Scene 29) to be Rev. 2.9. I was speaking with Amy a few weeks back and the idea of her script doctor friend taking a look at the script
came up. I will explore this with Amy and see if the idea has merit. This could
be the final piece of MAGIC that helps gets this thing ready for sale! There is
still so much work to do. Only a draft of the ending exists and itâs in this
document (the Appendix-Wiki). There still is too much dialogue and scenes that run
long need to be mixed in with other scenes that are happening concurrently.

âright time, right placeâ â it sure feels like that!

My partnership with the writer/director is over (for a number of reasons) but during our time together the script made lots of very real progress. For one thing, the whole thing is now in the latest version of the Movie Magic Screenwriter tool (an industry standard). All hard-copy notes that had built up over the past 10+ years are now part of the electronic draft. The opening sequences were reworked and other fixes (outlined in pencil and pen) were finally completed. We are left with a product that is, I would say, 77% complete. The ending is outlined in draft form but still needs to be written. There are continuity errors that need fixing. In some cases, the order in which scenes occur needs to be changed. Some scenes are far too long and too dialog-heavy. That needs to be fixed. So... there are lots of options for getting this done. A new one on the table is a possible collaboration with a friend from childhood and fellow sci-fi fan who is also a published author (she's written plays, books, short stories, and even teaches classes on the same). In the fall, we may explore that potential partnership. Then there's also my good friend Amy of 20+ years out in CA - without revealing too much: she grew up around Hollywood legends, she is the daughter of a well-known actor and comedian (may be RIP), and she still has people who could take a look at the script and get us in some doors. She made the offer to help out on that front years ago and the offer still stands. But first it has to be finished. Then it has to actually be as good as it can be (cuz right now, it's just not). Only then will it be ready for prime-time. Aside from getting in peak physical condition, this is one of my longest incomplete life goals. For a while a few months ago (when DAY JOB duties once again interfered with progress on NTD), I almost gave up on it. What changed? I re-read the punched-up first few scenes again and said "WOW, THIS IS AWESOME!" and I got all jazzed about it again. So, as they say, "more to follow"... this 20+ year saga is still not over - not by a longshot!Jim Ward-Nicholshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12363559282810114776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3844005721610755370.post-87134318548227101882011-10-26T17:01:00.001-07:002012-11-09T12:18:23.061-08:00Wow! It's really happening. Just finalized the DEAL MEMO with my co-writer. We're on a schedule to finish the script by the end of the year. I gave him the first third this past weekend. It contains all the hand-written changes that were never added to the electronic version of the script. He's bringing it "up to code" and will do the same thing with the next two thirds. He really is a full partner in this. He believes in the story too, which is just great. And I'm trusting him with my baby because it just feels right. I will give another update after the next third gets submitted.Jim Ward-Nicholshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12363559282810114776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3844005721610755370.post-20386997184312467792011-10-01T12:15:00.001-07:002012-11-09T12:19:00.018-08:00Finally! A plan to finish the script! YAY!Well, this two-decade journey I've been on with "New Trinity Dawn" is finally coming to an end. Together with my backer and collaborator (an actual professional real-life director) I am going to finish the script. Final edits for Part I (thru page 40) will be completed by 10/22. Part II (thru page 80) will be completed by 11/19. And the final third (half of which is yet to be written) will be done by 12/17. So... we shall head into 2012 ready to start shopping it around. I can't say who we're connected to, but there are some big names (in the world of sci-fi fantasy, that is). Wish us luck!Jim Ward-Nicholshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12363559282810114776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3844005721610755370.post-17744826961402197362011-04-15T10:42:00.000-07:002012-11-09T12:19:49.135-08:00Quick Update...Real-life (non-April 1st) Script Update: the current working copy of NEW TRINITY DAWN is now (finally) registered with the Writers Guild of America - took me long enough! Better late than never!

Also - I finally got myself upgraded to the latest version of my script-writing tool (Final Draft). Again: better late than never! =)

And just to make sure we're all on the same page (since I know some of you still thought DreamWorks had cut me a check for $3.7M), here was the "reveal" post I released on April 2nd: The Day After: Let's see, did they take down YouTube's "top viral videos of 1911"? Yup. Is the BETA version of "Gmail motion" (which claimed that simply by using your cam & a spacial tracking algorithm that you could handle all your Gmail with body gestures alone) still out there? Nope. And is LinkedIn still offering "People you might know" that includes J.R.R. Tolkein, Groucho Marx, and Robin Hood? It would appear not. So... OK... I must confess: please do consider what we've all just been through to be a dry run for a Highly Probable Future Event. Just think, when it really does happen it'll be like "deja vu all over again" (no really, it will).Jim Ward-Nicholshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12363559282810114776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3844005721610755370.post-72793027333631485922011-03-31T21:12:00.000-07:002011-04-05T18:11:09.833-07:002011-2012 Goals...Team -

Writer's Block set in with The Script many moons ago. I still believe in the project and still plan to complete it within the next 12 months (or sooner!). I'm trying not to be too hard on myself but clearly NOW IS THE TIME to get this thing done.

Goals for 2011-2012: finishing and then selling the NEW TRINITY DAWN script (yeah, the DreamWorks press release on Facebook was a 4/1 "gag" - and based on recent feedback, some of you may never have read the "reveal" post), getting into the best physical, emotional, and spiritual condition of my entire life, and taking lots of time to simply smell the roses.

Thank you all for being with me on this journey!

Bests,
JimJim Ward-Nicholshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12363559282810114776noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3844005721610755370.post-24022441790234603262009-08-16T05:57:00.000-07:002012-11-09T12:20:29.781-08:00What is "New Trinity Dawn"?Hiya.

Well, it's the current working title of a sci-fi script that I started way back in 1991. Back then, it was called "VR World" (too 90s at this point - LOL!). Then it was called "VR World: Dawn of the New Trinity" (which was eventually shortened to just "Dawn of the New Trinity").

And now, I think we've finally landed on something really cool:

New Trinity Dawn

Me like-ee!!!

This blog won't become fully active until mid-Fall, 2009. It will chart the resurrection of the script and offer historic background ("proof") of the journey I've been on with this thing (yes, This Thing) since the early 90s. The funny thing is, it's at least 3/4 finished. And the ending is already charted. But it's sat for years. When I moved to Sedona in 2006, I dusted it off, got my fresh copy of 'Final Draft' which was the software I was using, and put some notes in the Tracking Log. But that was about it.

First derailment? Working 70+ hours a week for AT&T through the 90s and well into the 21st century (until mid-2006, actually). While it was exciting and most definitely financially rewarding, it didn't leave too much time for anything else.

So... that's it for now. See you sometime in mid-OCT, I would imagine.
